Special Sentences

Sentence formation in English can sometimes be quite interesting. Don’t believe us? Have a dekko at the following sentences. We call them special sentences because they really are. We are sure you’ll love to know them.

1. Can you think of a sentence containing 3 consecutive ‘because’?

In English language, no sentence ends in ‘because’ because ‘because’ is a conjunction.

2. Can you think of a sentence containing 5 consecutive ‘and’?

Once a hotelier asked an artist to write a signboard. He wanted the artist to write – Tea and coffee are available here. The final signboard looked somewhat like this:

Tea        and        coffee are available here.

The hotelier, obviously dissatisfied at this, said to the artist:

You have left a lot of space between ‘tea’ and ‘and’ and ‘and’ and ‘coffee’.

3. Can you think of a sentence containing 3 consecutive ‘then’, and 3 consecutive ‘else’?

If ‘if’ is equal to ‘then’, then ‘then’ is equal to ‘else’, else ‘else’ is equal to ‘if’
